On October 7, 1988, Shashi and Margaret Gupta co-founded Apex Data Services: a brand new company built on values, bent on excellence, and bringing good jobs to ready workers in the US and India alike.
Thirty years later, Shashi and Margaret’s vision is going strong—and what an exciting journey it has been!
Apex started as a digital conversion company and quickly branched out to a variety of industries including geospatial information services (GIS), aerial mapping, mechanical electric and plumbing engineering, call centers, smart grid solutions, and, of course, publishing which is a large focus today.
Apex’s hallmark in all of these industries has been to provide path-breaking technology solutions that leverage our philosophy of balancing the processing power of the computer with the cognitive power of the human mind.
Organizations from around the world recognize Apex’s uniqueness and elect to work with us time and again. United States Library of Congress, National Library of Australia, Taylor & Francis, JSTOR/ITHAKA, Lusail Multipurpose Hall (Qatar Olympics), Chennai and Hyderabad metro systems, The Times of UK, LA Times, and Chicago Tribune are just a few of the names we’ve partnered with over the years.
As Apex starts off in its third decade, we will continue to help publishers and libraries grapple with the challenges each new year brings. From accessible publishing workflows and remediation to break-through digitization techniques, and transformation metadata, Apex is blazing the trail.
As we look to the future, here is a glimpse into the past. Thank you to our customers, partners, employees, family, and friends who have made 30 years possible!
